God With Me Places

Hebrews 13:5: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

I know that He is always with me and in me, but there are many places in my life where special things having to do with God happen. For lack of something better to call those places, I*ll call them God With Me Places.

Exodus 3:2-6: And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. 5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. 6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

I think Moses could call that holy ground a God With Me Place.

I have a room in my home where I study the Bible and meet with God. I hope that you have a place like that. It is a place where I seek Him and often find Him. It is a place where I often put Him first. It is a place that is safe. It is a God With Me Place. I have other God With Me Places too.

It is a place where I come away from the world and come to Him.

Song 2:13b: . . . Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

It is a place where I can be still and know that He is MY God.

Psalms 46:10a: Be still, and know that I am God: . . .

It is a place where I can taste and see that He is good.

Psalms 34:8a: O taste and see that the LORD is good: . . .

It is a place where I pray.

Matthew 6:6: But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

It is a place where I have peaceful naps.

Psalms 127:2b: . . . he giveth his beloved sleep.

My Bibles, my reference books and my computer are in that room. It is the place where I write these articles.

I surrendered my heart to the Lord one morning in November of 1985. I was listening to a radio preacher on earphones. It happened while I was at work. That place was a God With Me Place. God chose it as the place where He would speak to my heart, the place where I would make my heart and life available to Him, the place where He would save me. I surrendered my heart to Him knowing that He would change it. I also knew that He would change my life. To this day it is exciting to me to remember that place and what happened there.

The Lord has given me ministry in a couple of nursing homes. I think of those places as God With Me Places.

I attend a church where the Pastor*s preaching is very Biblical and a blessing. The fellowship there is sweet. In that place I get much of the inspiration for the articles I write. To me that is a God With Me Place.

I play golf. I have had the joy of sharing the gospel with a number of folk on and near a golf course and hearing them call upon the name of the Lord. There are several places where that has happened. One man received Christ on a certain tee. As I played with him again a few years later, he had forgotten the place. When I reminded him of it he got a smile. There is one shade tree in particular where I have been able to share the gospel several times. To me, each of those spots is a God With Me Place.

In my car, I listen to Christian music and CDs of Dr. J. Vernon McGee from his radio program Thru the Bible Radio. I sometimes have to pull off the road and take notes for these articles. My car is a God With Me Place.

For a Christian, the whole world can be a God With Me Place. I find more and more God With Me Places in my little world. I pray that is so for you also.
